    Abstract
Several articles published in June 2020 in Sinhala newspapers Mawbima and Divaina referred to survivors of sexual assaults using terms 'keleseema' (කෙලෙසීම) and 'dushanaya' (දූෂණය) that suggest they were 'polluted'. Complying with media ethical guidelines Dinamina reported it using the term 'lingika apayojanaya' (ලිංගික අපයෝජනය).
