Abstract

In the month of April 2019 articles published in Lankadeepa, Divaina, Ada, Mawbima, Resa, Dinamina, and Sunday Observer reported suicides without including suicide helplines while including method of suicide and also giving prominence to suicide in the heading which violates media ethics. This also included an infographic that compares the way the media reported about the suicide incident of the university student.
