    Abstract
Trincomalee as a port is in full development and many uncertainties still exist. It is for this reason that the forecasts are not sufficient to base port development on. This report goes further than the forecasts in presenting development options which are for now to uncertain but changing circumstances might come into play. The report addressed following key goals: • Options for attracting new business to the port; • Potential for SLPA land use; • Development areas in Trincomalee in a zoning map; • Development options for the port; • Short-term priority projects for SLPA; and • pre-feasibility studies on selected projects
